Definitions
Guided tour
A guided tour is a guided walk or bike tour in Bruges or the Bruges countryside, as listed on the website, with a specified duration also indicated on the website, or a tailor‑made guided walk or bike tour created by S‑wan vzw at the customer’s request.
Booking

Rebooking
Any change to the subject, date, time or number of participants of the tour booked by the customer must be rescheduled by dispatching.
Force majeure
Force majeure is a legal concept referring to a situation in which a person is unable to fulfil their obligations due to unforeseen and unavoidable circumstances. This may be caused, for example, by a natural disaster (earthquake, snowstorm, flooding, …), epidemic or pandemic, war, unforeseen technical failures or defects that prevent performance, or other external factors beyond the control of the person or party involved.
To qualify as force majeure under the law, the situation must meet the following conditions:
In such cases, it is assumed that “no one is obliged to do the impossible”.
Subject of the agreement / how the agreement is concluded
The agreement concerns the customer’s booking of one or more guided tours offered by S‑wan vzw.
The customer can order a tour in two ways:
After placing an order, the customer will always receive an electronic confirmation by email, upon which their order becomes a booking. S‑wan vzw undertakes to carry out the booking.
Duration and termination of the agreement
The tour starts at the place and time agreed between S‑wan vzw and the customer and has a duration corresponding to the information provided for the tour on the website.
Number of participants
A guided tour accommodates a maximum of 20 participants, unless otherwise specified in the tour information on the website. If the number of participants exceeds 20 (or the maximum stated in the tour information on the website), the customer must book a second (and, if necessary, a third, fourth, …) guide.
Payment terms
The price of the tour is stated in the tour information on the website. The price always applies to a group of up to 20 participants (unless otherwise specified in the tour information). The only exception is the price for the Maandtoerke (only Dutch spoken) which is listed per person, as customers can register individually.
The customer may choose one of the following payment methods:
If the customer does not order via the website (Regiondo), they are asked to confirm the chosen payment method in the booking.
The prices on the website are listed in euros. Payment is always made in euros.
S‑wan vzw is not subject to VAT and does not charge VAT.
Cancellation and modification fees
In the event of a cancellation less than 5 days before the scheduled tour, the customer owes a fixed compensation amounting to 30% of the value of the booking.
In the event of a cancellation on the day of the tour itself, or in case of a no‑show, the customer owes a fixed compensation amounting to 100% of the value of the booking.
If, due to force majeure, we are unable to carry out the assignment, we reserve the right to terminate the agreement without any compensation being owed. Any amount already paid will be refunded in full.
If the customer is unable to participate in the booked tour due to force majeure, any amount already paid will be refunded, subject to a 10% administrative fee.
If the customer wishes to modify their booking (different date, different time, …) and S‑wan vzw needs to carry out a rescheduling, no fixed compensation will be charged. If, as a result of the modification, the group size exceeds the maximum stated in the tour information on the website, an additional guide must be booked.
Intellectual property
The form, content and execution of the tours, as well as the content of this website — including trademarks, logos, designs, data, product or company names, texts, images, and similar elements — are protected by intellectual property rights and belong to S‑wan vzw or to third‑party rights holders.

Miscellaneous
Our guides are insured for civil liability through the Federation of Tourist Guide Associations (vzw).
Amendments to the general terms and conditions
These general terms and conditions are subject to change and may be unilaterally amended by S‑wan vzw.
Applicable law and competent courts.
Belgian law applies to this site. In case of a dispute, only the courts of the district of Bruges have jurisdiction.
