Besides, I am geeky and a film buff, so it happens that I approach things from that angle.  <\/p>\n<p>My favourite place in the city is the area around the central museum site: the St John&#8217;s Hospital, the Church of Our Lady Museum, Gruuthuse Museum and Groeninge Museum are connected by the picturesque Hof Arents, the romantic Bonifacius Bridge, mysterious reits, quaint streets, the breathtaking courtyard of Gruuthuse and surprising museum gardens of the Groeninge Museum. The modern architecture of the footbridges, the green oasis of the vests and the rich city history: much of what Bruges has to offer at a glance. With some imagination, I go back into the past and see medieval guards standing at the ochre yellow city gate asking for a password.  <\/p>\n<p>Brugge is bursting with stories. What are your interests? I first got to know the city when I studied here in secondary school, and ever since then I\u2019ve truly lost my heart to it. If I haven\u2019t been in the city centre for a while, the longing already starts to creep in. My favourite place is the Saint John\u2019s Hospital: under this roof, so much has happened over so many centuries, and the artworks here were created especially for this place. I was born in Bruges, went to school in the heart of the city, even completed my military service here, and my very first job was in the only factory within \u201cthe egg\u201d \u2014 the yeast factory. Even my roots couldn\u2019t be more Bruges: my grandfather was born in the Gezelle Museum as the son of gardener E. Leys, the successor to Gezelle\u2019s father, and my grandmother was the daughter of the caf\u00e9 owner of \u2019t Spijtje (today known as \u201cDe Stoepa\u201d).
